about the artist

Tucked away for a conventional life and career, my art was awakened by a life drawing session at Minerva Durham’s Spring Studio in New York. Today, my artistic impulses are flowing freely. The process is quietly exhilarating, joyful, hard work, and bound up in my spiritual life. My work is inspired by a deep curiosity about the truth and beauty within each of us that often goes unseen.

As a child, my first teacher was my mother, a talented ceramicist. I went on to study at the University of Michigan School of Fine Arts, with programs and classes at RISD, Parson’s/New School, SVA and the New York Academy of Art, and recent collage workshops at Woodstock School of Art with Ransome and David Hornung.

I wish for all sleeping artists the joy of waking up :)
